Game Controls
~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
Movement (Up, Down, Left, Right) = Joystick or Arrow Keys & Enter
(fire)
De/Select Panel = Space Bar (Or if you are using a
CD³² Joypad, the
Blue-Button will act
like Space-Bar).
Also Left Mouse Button
When the Panel has been selected, use the Joystick/Arrow keys to control it.
Pressing the Space-Bar/CD³² Joypad (Blue Button) again will deselect it,
also selecting an option will deselect it once the operation is complete.
Options can be selected with either the Fire button or the "Enter" key.
The Panel
~~~ ~~~~~
Options available to you once the panel has been selected:
Use: It will then bring you to the Inventory selecter in which you can
select anything you have picked up that you wish to use.
Take: Pickup an item that your character is situated over.
Drop: Dropped items can not be picked up again. Only use this if your
inventory panel is full and you wish to pickup something of more
use.
Swap: Swap an item you have picked up with a prisoner or someone you
can interact with. You must be touching the person you wish to swap
with.
Talk: Talk to a person.
Punch: Select this to punch someone. Can be useful in certain situations.
Extra Keys:
~~~~~ ~~~~
<Help> Key will display the Time & Date (Assuming you have a battery-backed
up clock that is correctly set).
<Esc> Key will quit the game - back to DOS.
<F1> Screen Blanker. Nothing fancy, but it will just fade the screen black
until you're ready to continue. Stop them horrible monitor burns.
Game
~~~~
As explained in the story scroller, you have to escape from prison. When you
come across doors and various open sections, just walk into it to move on.
White boxes that appear on some screens show a downward door, just
move the character towards the box to enter it.
Experiment with the various control methods to get the best from the game.
Please remember that although I've tried to make this game as challenging
and big as possible, it has been squashed onto just one disk, so don't
expect anything massive.
Hard Disk Users
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~~
This game can indeed be installed onto a Hard Disk. The following files are
required:
(Either root or in a drawer)
Ingenuous
Ingenuous.info
Story
Story.info
ReadMe.Doc
ReadMe.Doc.info
(Same directory as Ingenuous executable - root or in a drawer)
IData1/
Data1.Bin
Data2.Bin
Data3.Bin
Libs:
Diskfont.Library
Fonts: (or Ingenuous/Fonts/)
Courier.font
Courier/7
That's it. Either copy these files manually or use a file managing program.
Also on this disk should be a Hard Disk Installer script which can be
executed from Workbench. Feel free to edit this (simple ASCII file), at the
moment it will copy all data from this disk to Dh0:.
Enjoy!
